How Is God Moving In The Midst Of A Global Pandemic?

Updated: Apr 15, 2022

One crucial question that has been on everyone’s mind is how can we collectively move forward in order to move back to some sense of normal? And what is this new normal going to look like? For many Politicians, Executives, Administrators and others in the role of leadership the old saying “Heavy is the Head that Wears the Crown” is quite applicable in this current dilemma that everyone is experiencing. This phrase implies the great responsibilities of people who are in charge having to bear many responsibilities during this global pandemic. Their decisions can and have caused a monumental divide among people. There are many debatable topics of discussion from being pro or anti vaccination, a sense of infringement upon freedoms, having to publicly disclose confidential medical information when traveling or attending a public event and autonomy of choice regarding “what we put in our bodies”. However, I will address those topics from a Christian’s perspective in other blogs and videos. Right now I am going to focus on the subject matter of “How Is God Moving In The Midst Of A Global Pandemic?”

There are many people who are facing uncertainties with their health, employment status, relationships. Now, more than ever, is the time for us to demonstrate our faith as Christians. We need to be an example that shows this pandemic has not robbed us of our peace while we support others through our encouraging words and actions.

I believe God is asking his children to “stand in the gap” with prayer and supplication. When prayer and faith combine together, we become unstoppable. Faith has the power to move mountains and prayer is the way to access heaven. When we, the Church, come together in prayer we are to trust in the Lord with all our heart and not to rely on our own insight at the current pandemic.

The following are prayers that I encourage you to pray.

For those who are currently recovery from the virus “Jesus, you are the Great Physician, You are the Lord who heals the sick. We pray for You to nurse those who are sick back to health. We pray against any long-term effects, and we pray that they are able to resume their normal activities soon. Thank You for keeping them from further harm. We exalt Your Holy Name for all Your Goodness and for Your Blessings. Jesus, in Your all-powerful and healing name, we pray. Amen”.

For our leaders and people of influence during this pandemic lets pray “Father God, good leaders, come from You. Lord, this nation needs leaders with discerning hearts and wise minds. We come to You today asking You to give us wise leaders that will lead this nation in the right direction. Remove wrong people that are corrupt and living against Your Word from influential positions. Let our leaders be people who honour Your Holy Name for it is only from You that they will receive true wisdom. It is in the mighty Name of Jesus that we believe and pray, Amen”.

For my brothers and sisters in Christ I pray “Precious Heavenly Father, Your son and our Lord, Jesus is our living hope through the power of Your Holy Spirit. Even though there be trials and tribulations, You enable Your people to take heart because Jesus has overcome the world. Give them confidence in the hope that You provide. May their days be filled with joy despite the circumstances around them. Enlighten the eyes of their heart so they may know the hope to which You have called us, and the riches of our glorious inheritance for Your people. Thank You for the reward stored up in heaven to the one who endures to the end. Amen”.

In closing, when it comes to our actions and reactions to this global pandemic I think Paul Washer's quote is applicable when he said "We must not adopt the world's view and then tweak it to make it Christian. We must draw a line in the sand and stand firm in the radical teachings of Christ and His Gospel. We must preach the truth and be the examples of the truth we preach".
